Thank You Target

Grouchiness fell with the darkness.

The crispness of the cool sheets soothed the heat of a frustrating day.

The morning sun peeked through the clouds.

A cup of coffee warmed the silence of the sleeping house.

The house awoke. Too soon the silence was broken.

Once again the frustration began to build.

The germs, the arguments, the wrestling matches over the one chair that everyone has to sit in, the whining, the complaining, the bargaining, the pleading...

The laundry piles emitting their stench, the dishwasher over-flowing, the noses that needed wiping, the children in need of entertaining, the constant sound of the television...

An escape was made.

A drive to the store in blissful silence.

A credit card charged brings satisfaction to the afternoon.

The purchases are small. A pair of socks, a toaster, some boxes, a pen. They are small but add up.

The silence of the afternoon adds up.

The return home is triumphant. The freedom from the familiar. The escape from the frustrating.

The evening sun is setting. Renewal has been attained. Peace of heart has been found.

Good Night Love. Thank you Target.

I do love Target, but I haven't been there since they dissed us bloggers. I hold grudges. Not a good trait! The flip side is I'm very loyal..sothat's good!

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes a simple trip to buy a few odds and ends can really help when Mom is going crazy.

I also LOVE Target. Unfortunately, the closest one is an hour away. That wouldn't ordinarily stop me, but at $3.20 a gallon, it is quickly becoming harder to justify to my husband.

If it weren't for grocery store trips, I'd be completely insane! :)

Ahh... yes. Just to get in the car, alone, for even a short drive or outing. Anywhere. Just for a little while...

I hear you.

Retail therapy. Gotta love it. Well, that and silence. And aloneness. Yes. Ranks right up there with water and air.

Solo shopping trips are the best! What a treat. I am known to make up excuses on why I need to go to target and not take the kids with me.
